Data Mining: Big Corporations Are Gathering Every Shred Of Information About You That They Can And Selling It For Profit

When most people think of “Big Brother”, they think of the FBI, the CIA, the NSA, the Department of Homeland Security and other shadowy government agencies. Yes, they are definitely watching you, but so are many big corporations. In fact, there are some companies that are making tens of millions of dollars by gathering every shred of information about all of us that they can and selling it for profit to anyone willing to pay the price. It is called “data mining”, and these data miners want to keep track of literally everything that you do. Most people know that basically everything that we do on the Internet is tracked, but data mining goes far beyond that. When you use a customer rewards card at the supermarket, the data miners know about it. When you pay for a purchase with a credit card or a debit card, the data miners know about it. Every time you buy a prescription drug, that information is sold to someone. Every time you apply for a loan, a whole host of organizations is notified. Information has become an extremely valuable commodity, and thanks to computers and the Internet it is easier to gather information than ever before. But that also means that our personal information is no longer “private”, and this trend is only going to get worse in the years ahead.

With the furor over the shooting death of Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman on Feb. 26, it quickly became clear that a preponderance of black Americans were buying into the narrative proffered by the establishment press, radical activists and far-left politicos. Generally, they believed that the shooting was an act of murder, that Zimmerman was a white racist and that law enforcement was prepared to evade its responsibility in investigating the incident because the victim was black.

It is not my intention to expound further upon this phenomenon, although the dynamics are quite significant. Instead, I’d like to shed light on why so many blacks readily react to racially charged incidents in the way they do and how this is used to further fortify the left’s political influence over black Americans.

Blacks have allowed themselves to be defined by the press, activists, politicians and the entertainment media, who have set themselves up as the final arbiters of racial orthodoxy in America. That definition is one that had its genesis in nothing less than the quintessential stereotype of good-old-time bigots. This stereotype portrays blacks as shiftless, ignorant, nefarious, manifestly incapable of holding on to money and wholly preoccupied with sex. You know why they always got sex on the brain? ‘Cause they have pubic hair on their heads, ha-ha-ha!

This, if one examines the so-called culture that is so vociferously defended by many blacks, is most definitively encapsulated in “thug culture,” which has been legitimized in media and which received a shot in the arm in the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin shooting. Indeed, blacks – particularly young blacks – were even more so encouraged to embrace and flaunt the thug image, if for no other reason than to protest the shooting.

Thug culture in particular holds to belligerence, misogyny and rebellion against any accepted norms and authority – all of these are embraced. If you’re black and you own a business, or wear a suit and hold a job in corporate America, you’re a sellout; yet black multimillionaire entertainers are able to talk the country and capitalism down, and not one among them even recognizes the hypocrisy therein. As with most liberal-socialist logic, the inconsistency of this view knows no bounds, and heaven help the individual who condemns the thug lifestyle as morally ambivalent. Such assertions are (according to the arbiters of racial orthodoxy) tantamount to denying black people their culture, and as such, are racist.

Dems Kill Crackdown on Teacher-Student Sex

‘Another reason for conscientious parents to flee government school system’

teacher-student-love-affair Majority Democrats on a California state legislative committee have decided to kill a plan that would have cracked down on intimate relationships between school teachers and their students, prompting a pro-family organization to warn that it is just another reason for parents to pull their children from the government education industry.

Assembly Bill 1861 would have made it a felony if any teacher or employee of a public or private school “engages in a sexual relationship or inappropriate communications with a pupil.”

Those communications were defined as anything that is “sexual, lewd or lascivious in nature.”

“This is yet another reason for conscientious parents to flee the dysfunctional, immoral, and imploding government school system for church schools and home schools, which are much safer physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually,” said Randy Thomasson, president of SaveCalifornia.com.

“Why are Democrat legislators supporting child sex abuse? Why don’t they care about children’s immature hearts and minds being immorally manipulated and sexually seduced by public school teachers,” he continued. “It is certifiably evil that this bill to protect schoolchildren’s bodies was defeated by this Democrat-controlled committee.”

It died in the Assembly Public Safety Committee, and according to the Sacramento Bee, critics worried that it would duplicate laws already on the books against sex between adults and children, and also could be used to prosecute those who text messages and exchange emails concerning various pieces of literature, such as the “Great Gatsby.”

The vote was 3-0, with one Democrat not voting and the two Republicans on the committee absent.

The proposal had been prompted by the recent case in which a student, 18-year-old Jordan Powers, moved with a teacher, 41-year-old James Hooker. The two claimed Powers was of age, 18, before their relationship became romantic.

However, reports in the last few days indicate the couple may have split.

Kristin Olsen, a Republican member of the Assembly, from Modesto, introduced the proposal, noting in comments about the legislation that it took aim at the “growing problem where teachers, administrators, or other school employees have been engaging in sexual acts, relations or inappropriate communications like lewd text messages or sexting with their students.”

The Mercury News, reported Olsen accused her fellow lawmakers of abandoning the children.

“The committee today stood up for predators and union bosses instead of students,” she told the newspaper.

The chairman of the committee, Tom Ammiano, however, told the Bee that the state needs to protect free speech “even when we don’t like it.”

Thomasson openly questioned the use of the term “free speech” for communications that could include “sexting” messages and the like.

His organization promotes the Rescue Your Child website, which encourages parents to seek out church schools or homeschooling options for their children.
